ScavengerI watched in fascination at the cigarette held loosely by the man (at least I thought it was a man, it was hard to tell in the darkness) beside me. It was burning a dull orange, a trail of fallen ash piled around it. I felt a bit of awe that such a small thing used to cause horrible illness, turning lungs into a blackened mass.
